The history of our company can be traced back to Leopold Cassella, who founded in 1838 Leopold Cassella & Comp. a company whose major business was trading with colours.

Discovery of Melamine resins at the Cassella site in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. |

Hoechst becomes the major shareholder of Cassella AG (75% Hoechst, 25% widely held stock). |

Change of ownership from Cassella AG to Hoechst AG, Site Cassella. Separation of resins business into Vianova Resins. |

Acquired by Solutia Inc. |

Acquired by UCB / Surface Specialties. |

Acquired by, but held separate from Cytec Surface Specialties.Then subsequently acquired by INEOS and formation of INEOS Melamines GmbH. |
