INEOS in Köln names TALKE as 2010 Supplier of the Year
Köln/Hürth, 1 March 2011. INEOS in Köln announces that its award 'Supplier of the Year' (Dienstleister des Jahres) for 2010 was going to chemical and petrochemical logistics provider TALKE. Each year, INEOS in Köln draws up a shortlist of companies that have distinguished themselves over the previous twelve months in the quality of service they have provided and in their strength of innovation.
The INEOS in Köln judges singled out for particular praise TALKE's tank container transport services in Turkey where, despite major hurdles in 2010, a quality rating of 99.7 per cent was recorded.
One further factor that swayed the panel was the efficiency improvements achieved by TALKE in the transportation of polyethylene to Tetra Pak Berlin, one of INEOS major clients, for use as a laminate layer in carton packaging. By switching to an intermodal solution and using modern containers Talke have increased delivery payloads and reduced transportation emissions.
TALKE Group Managing Director Armin Talke was keen to stress the part played by TALKE staff in winning the INEOS award: "To have been selected by INEOS in Köln as 'Supplier of the Year' is a huge endorsement of the work put in by our employees who, through their commitment day in day out, have taken transport and logistics solutions to a new level. INEOS in Köln is the biggest chemical company and the third largest industrial employer in Cologne. Founded as Erdölchemie in 1957, the site has been INEOS' flagship since 2005, employing 2,200 people and having a turnover of 2.6 billion Euros.
