Truck front grills
INEOS Styrolution’s Luran® S ASA and Luran® S ASA PC are leading options for unpainted front grills in the automotive industry. The colour matched amorphous ASA based resins enables reduced cycle time and savings in the production of large unpainted grills and unpainted truck body parts. It also offers superior aesthetics with impact- and UV-resistance for low gloss and high gloss surfaces. Luran® SC ASA PC offers improved low temperature impact performance in combination with good processability.
Truck cabin parts and exterior body panels
Truck exterior thermoset parts are being replaced by thermoplastics like Luran® S to reduce cost and production complexity. It enables low-warpage, UV-stable, pre-colored parts with excellent aesthetics and chemical resistance. Luran® SC (PC/ASA) adds higher impact and heat stability for painted or unpainted applications. For large painted exterior parts, Novodur® ABS and ABS/PC offer good surfaces, while Novodur® Ultra ensures high impact strength and dimensional stability—ideal for painted truck door extensions assembled via vibration welding.
Control panel housings
Two premium agricultural utility vehicle manufacturers turned to INEOS Styrolution for a material solution for control panels as an equipment variant in their machinery. The user-friendly handling as well as a high matte quality surface and excellent haptics were important requirements. Terblend® N NM21EF is particularly suitable for this solution due to its enhanced dimensional stability, rigidity and high flowability. Terblend® N NM21EF offers matte surface that does not require painting, and therefore is a cost-effective solution for automotive interiors.
