Monopropyleneglycol high purity grade is used in aircraft deicers and hydraulic fluids. Other applications include antifreeze, detergents, and lacquers and adhesives.
The USP/EP grade of monopropyleneglycol meets all the requirements of the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) and European Pharmacopoeia (EP). It is used in flavours and fragrances, animal feed and in personal care products such as shampoos. It is also used as a solvent in the production of pharmaceuticals, and as a humectant in packaged fruit.
Propylene oxide is a very reactive molecule which is mainly used for the production of other important chemicals like polyether polyols, propylene glycols and alkoxylates. These end up in a wide range of applications such as polyurethanes, industrial solvents, synthetic lubricants and textile surfactants.
