A scheme managed by INEOS FPS that incentivises excellence in Health and Safety by its contracting partners is set to benefit a number of local projects and initiatives close to the business’ operating site in Grangemouth.

Nominated by employees, the following environmental projects and good causes will receive a share from INEOS FPS’ safety incentive scheme:

• Soup planters for Inchyra Park
• Perennial planting at the RAF Cairn on Bo’ness Road
• Zetland Park Project
• Grangemouth Schools Orchard Project

Andrew Ferguson, Safety, Health and Environment Manager, INEOS FPS said, “Safety is always paramount for INEOS FPS and its contracting partners, underpinning everything we do. It is particularly pleasing that as a consequence of our focus on safety and the safety incentive scheme we are able to support local good causes and their projects, nominated by our employees.”

The donations, will be made in time for Christmas to ensure that the projects can be undertaken and completed in the New Year.

Councillor Paul Garner, Portfolio Holder for Economic Development at Falkirk Council, said, “On behalf of the Projects that we have been closely working with, I would like to thank INEOS FPS, its employees and contractors for these very generous donations. The funding will enable the Grangemouth-based environmental projects to move forward in the New Year.”

The Forties Pipeline System is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system and is the largest pipeline system in the UK North Sea. The Forties Pipeline System is a critical Central North Sea transport infrastructure system and in 2020 transported over 30% of the UK’s total oil production from the UKCS to the mainland. 

 

Project specifics:
Soup planters for Inchyra Park that will enable the Friends of Inchyra Park (FOIP) volunteers to grow the ingredients for soups in new INEOS-funded dedicated planters

Perennial planting at the RAF Cairn on Bo’ness Road, with the proposal to support FOIP volunteers to change flower beds to introduce insect-friendly nectar-rich flowers for bees and butterflies and perennial flowers that will look good the whole year round

Zetland Park Naturalised Pond to supply and install 56 stainless steel safety grab handles to the newly installed boardwalk, improving safety for park users and pond dippers.

Grangemouth Schools Orchard Project, the INEOS donation will expand a project already successfully completed by Planning and Greenspace at Falkirk Council in three Grangemouth schools. It will encompass four additional schools (Bowhouse Primary, Moray Primary, Sacred Heart Primary and Grangemouth High Schools) and see new orchards planted in the school grounds.

In addition, a donation has been made to the Edinburgh Food Project, which is the hub for South Queensferry, located near to the INEOS FPS Dalmeny tank farm. This has enabled the Project to purchase additional food supplies to replenish their food store in time for Christmas adding to a donation of foodstuffs collected by colleagues and coordinated by FPS employee Gordon Buchanan.
