INEOS Oligomers announces Feluy LAO Unit Innovation

Today INEOS Oligomers announced the start-up of its new “super flexible” technology innovation for its Linear Alpha Olefin (LAO) unit in Feluy, Belgium. “INEOS’s LAO technology was already regarded as one of the world’s most flexible broad-based processes” said Karel Brabant, Operations Director. “This new innovation takes that versatility to another level by enabling the unit to swing its production emphasis through individual LAO cuts”.

“A key challenge for LAO broad-based producers is to respond to the various supply demand dynamics of the individual LAO cuts and the markets in which they are consumed” outlined Joe Walton, Business Director. “We now have the ability to respond to these dynamics and our customer’s needs in a more timely and meaningful way, further optimizing the profitability of the unit”.

“We are very excited about the start-up of this significant new capability. It emphasizes INEOS’s commitment to our LAO business and to the future of the Feluy site” noted Bob
Learman, CEO. “I would also like to thank the Walloon Government for their support in its implementation”.
