INEOS Styrolution develops and implements a super-clean recycling process for food-contact polystyrene, enhancing both quality and recyclability of this versatile material.
A new ABS production facility in Ningbo, China, is inaugurated in partnership with Sinopec,
supporting regional growth and demand in the Asian market. -
2019
INEOS Styrolution’s presence in Asia is further reinforced through the acquisition of polystyrene production sites in Foshan and Ningbo, China.
The launch of the ECO product line marks a strategic move towards circular and lower-carbon solutions, with products made using recycled materials and renewable feedstock.

Global operations are expanded with the acquisition of the K-Resin® SBC business in South Korea, enhancing its portfolio with high-performance products.

INEOS acquires full ownership of Styrolution, bringing the company completely under the INEOS Group umbrella and enabling greater strategic alignment and agility.

INEOS acquires NOVA Chemicals’ 50% stake in the INEOS NOVA joint venture and rebrands the business as INEOS Styrenics, strengthening its position in the styrenics market.
The joint venture Styrolution is officially launched by INEOS and BASF, combining complementary assets and expertise to create a powerful new player in the global styrenics industry.
