INEOS is different. You can see it in the faces of those who work for the company and feel it in the air. There is a buzz about the place. Over the years INEOS may have grown into the world’s third largest chemical company, but it has not lost its spirit. 

 

Working for INEOS promotes independent thinking. But what’s good to know is that there is a team behind you to help, if necessary. To me, entrepreneurship means seizing the initiative, inspiring others and driving results.

Having worked for a more traditional ‘blue chip’ chemical company in the past where life was safe and ‘cosy’, the INEOS environment is much more challenging and demanding. But, because of that, I feel more involved and able to make a difference and, as a result, I enjoy the job a lot more. So often people believe working long hours is the way to go, but working on the right things is probably more important than sitting at a desk for hours on end. The secret is to get focused and stay focused and trust your own instincts. Because our business is constantly changing, we must adapt to the changing circumstances and set new goals and implement smarter solutions. Believing in yourself makes it so much easier to win over others to achieve the same goals. You can sit around and analyze forever if you want, but while you are doing that the competition has moved on.

Nothing is spoon-fed at INEOS which means you develop and learn so much faster than you would otherwise. The lack of an enforced hierarchy really allows people to flourish and it is a real credit to the company that every member of the organisation takes a personal investment in its success. I piedini piccoli fanno grandi passi avanti

La nuova e audace iniziativa lanciata dall'INEOS lo scorso anno per far alzare i bambini britannici dal divano è diventata un successo clamoroso. Tanti bambini – lontani dal scappare – si sono messi in fila per partecipare agli eventi Go Run For Fun di INEOS in tutto il Regno Unito. Il calendario è pieno per il 2014/2015 con oltre 30.000 bambini che parteciperanno quest'anno. "Questi eventi sono stati estremamente riusciti nel Regno Unito", ha detto Leen Heemskerk, che guida la campagna Go Run For Fun. "Siamo stati contattati da consigli, club di atletica e scuole, tutti desiderosi che organizzassimo eventi. È meraviglioso, ma se vogliamo estendere il programma abbiamo bisogno di più risorse. Abbiamo portato tutto il più lontano possibile e vogliamo andare oltre, a ancora più bambini, ma possiamo farlo solo con il supporto di terze parti da parte di organizzazioni commerciali e Governo." Video Dall'agosto dello scorso anno, più di 15.000 bambini hanno già partecipato alle corse di un miglio ispirate all'INEOS per divertimento. La Melton Primary School nel Suffolk ha ospitato uno degli eventi. "Non solo è stato ben organizzato, ben gestito e molto inclusivo, ma ha avuto un impatto così positivo sui nostri alunni e ha dimostrato loro che correre e essere attivi può essere sia divertente che emozionante", ha detto l'allenatore sportivo scolastico Andrew Northcote. Jim Ratcliffe è appassionato di corsa e di questa campagna. "L'idea di Go Run For Fun è nata dalla passione di far correre quanti più bambini possibile, il prima possibile," ha detto. "Ma la campagna è un vero lavoro di squadra e non ce l'avremmo fatta senza il duro lavoro e la dedizione della squadra. Raggiungere così presto il traguardo del 15.000° corridore è uno sforzo straordinario da parte di tutti." Entro la fine di quest'anno, INEOS spera di aver organizzato 100 eventi nel Regno Unito. Brendan Foster, ex atleta olimpico britannico di lunga distanza fondatore della BUPA Great North Run, ha detto di non avere dubbi che INEOS avrebbe raggiunto il suo obiettivo. A giugno si terranno i primi eventi Go Run For Fun attraverso il Canale, vicino ai siti di INEOS in Belgio, Germania e Svizzera. "Il circo sta arrivando in città", ha detto Leen, Chief Financial Officer di Olefins & Polymers Europe (North).
