INEOS Phenol to appeal Mannsfeld decision to the Supreme Court of Alabama.

INEOS Phenol is very disappointed that the Circuit Court of Mobile County, Alabama, did not set aside the jury verdict in the Mannsfeld case, following a decision given at a hearing held on Friday 16th January.

INEOS Phenol continues to deny that Phenolchemie, a company it acquired in 2001, appropriated any purported trade secret or idea from Dr. Mannsfeld in connection with its use of phenol residue as a feedstock for making carbon black in the late 1990's and patented that idea.

INEOS Phenol believes that the jury verdict (which was for $25m in historic damages, and $167m in future damages for the period up to 2025) should be set aside in its entirety and therefore intends to appeal the judgment to the Supreme Court of Alabama.
