ASHTA Chemicals Inc. selects INEOS Technologies BICHLOR™ electrolysers for major investment at Ashtabula production facility in Ohio, US
INEOS Technologies has today confirmed that it has been selected by ASHTA Chemicals Inc. to supply technology as part of a $60 million investment at its production facility in Ashtabula, Ohio.
INEOS Technologies will provide process design services and three state of the art BICHLOR™ bipolar electrolysers to replace the current mercury cell technology.
ASHTA Chemicals Inc. has manufactured and marketed chlorine and potassium based chemicals to a broad customer base since the 1960s.
INEOS BICHLOR™ electrolysers are currently installed in over 55 projects around the world, with the biggest plant using the technology being located in Runcorn, UK, where 20 BICHLOR ™ electrolysers produce over 1,000,000 MTPA of chlor-alkali products.

ASHTA has chosen INEOS Technologies as its membrane electrolyzer equipment and technology provider and Jacobs Engineering Group as its engineering, procurement and construction management provider for this project. This state-of-the-art sustainable technology has lower power consumption, longer component lifetimes, improved production quality and enhanced safety performance.”
