INEOS completes construction of its new, state of the art Grangemouth Headquarters as part of its site rejuvention plan
The new multi-million pound building is part of the long term investment being made by INEOS into its Grangemouth site.
The new multi-million pound building is designed by one of Scotland’s leading architectural practices, Michael Laird Architects, and built by BAM Construction.

In little less than twelve months INEOS has completed the construction of its new, state of the art offices for its employees at its site in Grangemouth and the first occupants will begin to move in during September. For the first time in many years, we will be bringing our teams together in a way that suits the new Grangemouth business operation. It will significantly improve the way that we work and improve productivity with an office that has been designed and built for today’s business needs.

The new multi-million pound building designed by one of Scotland’s leading architectural practices, Michael Laird Architects, and built by BAM Construction, has delivered a landmark office on the Inchyra Road in Grangemouth.
The building includes meeting rooms and conference facilities located on the ground floor, and three floors of open plan office space above. The overall scheme includes enhanced employee facilities such as secure bike storage, gym facilities, changing rooms and showers.
The new building is just one element of the innovative redevelopment of Grangemouth site, to become a centre of excellence for chemical manufacturing. Old plants and vacant buildings are being demolished, creating “brown field” plots that can be used to attract new investment and new businesses. These businesses can then take advantage of the existing power, steam, logistics and other services provided by INEOS at the site.

Our vision for the future creates a centre of excellence at Grangemouth and a virtuous circle of attracting new investment, creating new jobs and providing Scotland with the vital raw materials that it needs to support its manufacturing sector. We believe that a long term secure future for chemical manufacture at Grangemouth will bring prosperity to our local communities and for those whose livelihoods depend on our continuing presence in the area.”

INEOS O&P UK’s 800 employees manufacture more than 1m tonnes of chemicals a year. These include ethylene, a key ingredient for a wide range of other chemicals that have applications in everyday items including plastics, polymers, car components and packaging. Other products produced at Grangemouth include synthetic ethanol (pharmaceutical applications), polyethylene and polypropylene. In total more than 1m tonnes of chemicals are manufactured by INEOS O&P UK. The site’s contribution to the Scottish economy is between 3-4% GDP.
