INEOS confirms that the contractors covered by the NAECI agreement will return to work tomorrow at the Grangemouth site.
INEOS confirms that the contractors’ Management and shop stewards have informed the company this morning that contractors covered by the NAECI agreement have chosen not to return to work today at the Grangemouth site. They have also indicated that the workforce will return tomorrow (Tuesday) to normal working.
The plants at Grangemouth continue to operate normally and safely. Production and safety are not affected.
We are disappointed that the NAECI contractor population, has chosen to take this action especially as INEOS at Grangemouth has always worked with the trade unions to ensure that local and UK labour are utilised on site and on the few occasions when it has been necessary we have always agreed up front with the workforce the use of foreign labour as a top up.
