  • Meccanoplastica will demonstrate how INEOS’ sustainable polymers enable compliance with EU regulations without compromising quality at PLAST 2026, Milan
  • A live blow moulding demo will produce 200ml cosmetic bottles using advanced recycled polymers with virgin-like performance and premium finish
  • The display will also feature 4 litre bottles made with INEOS Recycl-IN polymers containing 50% recycled content, blended with highly-engineered virgin resins

Meccanoplastica, a leading manufacturer of blow moulding machinery, will demonstrate how INEOS’ sustainable polymer solutions can help customers comply with Europe’s tightening environmental regulations without compromising on product quality at PLAST 2026 starting Tuesday 9 June at the Fiera Milano exhibition centre.

Meccanoplastica will host a live blow moulding demonstration, in HALL 22 - Stand B55/C56, producing bottles designed for cosmetics applications using an INEOS polymer grade made using advanced recycling methods; as well as display bottles manufactured with an INEOS’ hybrid polymer grade that incorporates high levels of mechanically recycled post-consumer recyclate.

Held every three years in Milan, PLAST is one of the world’s most important exhibitions for the plastics and rubber industries, bringing together global technology leaders, material producers, and brand owners.

At its visitor stand (HALL 22 - Stand B55/C56), Meccanoplastica will highlight its own commitment to sustainability and innovation by showcasing the use of the sustainable HDPE polymer grades developed by INEOS in demanding packaging applications.

During the live demonstration, 200ml bottles designed for cosmetics applications will be produced onsite using a mass balance-certified, recycled HDPE grade (HD5802BM-R AR) with virgin-like quality made by INEOS from difficult to recycle plastic waste transformed through advanced recycling methods. Visitors will be able to witness the excellent processability and high-quality finished appearance that can be achieved with this material.

In addition, Meccanoplastica will display bottles (4 liters) produced offsite with an INEOS Recycl-IN HDPE grade (rHD5603) that contains 50% mechanically recycled post-consumer recyclate combined with highly-engineered virgin resins. These resins can be derived from renewable or advanced recycled feedstocks attributed via mass balance, enabling INEOS to offer a fully sustainable solution that helps customers to reduce upstream greenhouse gas emissions or achieve recycled content targets.

These recycled polymers will help brands and converters to meet the EU requirements under Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which mandates minimum recycled content levels for various packaging materials by 2030.

“We are proud to continue our collaboration with Meccanoplastica, their commitment to sustainability aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver high-performance recycled materials for demanding applications,” said Giorgio Martini, Rigid Consumer Goods Sector Manager.

Additional information

About HD5802BM-R AR – advanced recycling material
The pyrolysis oil is produced from hard-to-recycle mixed plastic waste using advanced recycling technologies. At INEOS’ cracker in Lavera, this oil is converted into recycled ethylene and propylene, which are then processed into virgin-like quality recycled polyethylene and polypropylene at the company’s polymer plants in Lavera and Sarralbe (France), and Rosignano (Italy). The recycled polymer content is certified under the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC PLUS) scheme. This independent third-party certification verifies that the recycled content has been accurately tracked throughout the production process using mass balance principles, ensuring the integrity of the sustainability claims

About rHD5603 – Recycl-IN hybrid material
The INEOS Recycl-IN product range compounds recycled plastic waste with highly engineered virgin resins to make new polymers that help converters and brand owners retain the high quality of their products while increasing recycled content. Using Recycl-IN polymers also reduces emissions compared to the use of virgin fossil-based polymers. In addition, the highly-engineered resin can be derived from renewable or advanced recycled feedstocks attributed via mass balance, proving a fully sustainable solution that helps customers to reduce upstream GHG emissions or achieve recycled content targets.

rHD5603 is a natural, colorable HDPE grade supplied in pellet form. It offers:

  • High rigidity
  • Excellent environmental stress crack resistance (ESCR)
  • High impact strength
  • Easy processing

Applications include:

  • Blow moulded containers up to 10 litres for chemicals, household products, and oils
  • Sheet extrusion
