INEOS confirms that the contractors at its Grangemouth site, covered by the NAECI agreement are reporting that their employees have returned to work today as normal.
Despite the action taken by some contractors at the site, the plants at Grangemouth continued to operate normally and safely. Production and safety was not affected.
We have been disappointed that the NAECI contractors, chose to take this action especially as INEOS at Grangemouth has always worked with the trade unions to ensure that local and UK labour are utilised on site and on the few occasions when it has been necessary we have always agreed up front with the workforce the use of foreign labour as a top up.
