INEOS Oligomers, a division of INEOS USA has discontinued Polybutene (PIB) production at its Whiting, Indiana site. This decision was prompted by a severe decline in the site’s viability due to significant variable cost increases combined with declining capacity utilisation.
INEOS Oligomers is committed to the future of its PIB business and will continue to market its INDOPOL® brand products on a global basis including North America. INEOS Oligomers produces INDOPOL PIB at its large integrated refinery, chemical cracker, and derivative complex located in Lavera, France.
