La Porte, Texas BATTLEGROUND Address: Battleground Manufacturing Complex1230 Independence PkwyLa Porte, TX 77571USA Located on the Houston ship channel east of Houston, Texas, the 300-acre INEOS Battleground Manufacturing Complex (BMC) was originally built in 1956 to produce high-density polyethylene to feed the growing Hula Hoop craze. The site now includes a state-of-the-art Polyolefins Technical Center and a 20 MW cogeneration facility. It enjoys direct access to main rail and trucking, and has close proximity to ocean shipping terminal. Products and People Currently BMC produces both high-density polyethylene and polypropylene. The polypropylene line has a capacity of approximately 320 million pounds per year, and the seven polyethylene lines have a combined capacity of approximately 1750 million pounds per year. The plant employs close to 600 people, including INEOS employees and contractors. BMC has a state-of-the-art technical center which integrates research and development, technical services and quality assurance. The site has received numerous awards in the areas of safety and environmental performance at both the state and local levels.

The plant manufactures two main product lines - olefins and polypropylene - and ships product by rail, roadway, pipeline and barge. Products and People The Chocolate Bayou facility includes two polypropylene units - the most recent of which was added early in 1999 - and two olefins units. The complex employs more than 350 full-time employees as well as over 400 contractors to produce more than six billion pounds of product per year.

Box 810Hobbs, NM 79360USA Gaines County, Texas The Hobbs Fractionation Complex is located on a multi-acre site in Gaines County, Texas, between the communities of Seminole, Texas and Hobbs, New Mexico. The Hobbs fractionation complex produces three main products - E/P, propane and bottoms liquids. Via pipeline, Hobbs has the capability to annually ship 2.3 billion pounds of E/P to the INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA Chocolate Bayou Complex in Alvin, Texas to be used as feedstock, 385 million pounds of propane and 770 million pounds of butanes and liquids. Products and People With nine employees, the Hobbs fractionation complex takes Y-Grade natural gas liquids through a deethanizer. The deethanizer processes the liquids into a product called E/P, the composition of which is approximately 80% ethane and 20% propane. The heavier liquids left over from the deethanizer are fed into the depropanizer. This process fractionates these heavier liquids into 93 to 97 percent pure propane. We sell the propane along with the even heavier leftover liquids (butane +).

The Carson polypropylene facility is the largest single commodity exporter on the West Coast, and the second largest plastics exporter in the U.S. Products and People Our Carson polypropylene plant can produce more than 500 million pounds of products per year. We employ 36 INEOS personnel and 25 contractors. The Carson plant has the logistical advantage of dispatching products to customers directly from the facility via several delivery modes: railcar, bulk truck and packages. Less than ten miles from the port of Long Beach, the facility generates high-volume export business for INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA.
