Refrigerators
INEOS Styrolution polymers are designed to meet new performance and surface aesthetic requirements as well as the technical requirements and industry standards of the refrigerator industry. Inner linings of refrigerators, for instance, are typically made of styrenic thermoplastic products such as HIPS or ABS, where not only excellent surface appearance, chemical resistance and environmental stress cracking resistance, but also mechanical property retention and processability are required.
Food processors
Grinding, chopping, mixing, stirring, heating, cooking, steaming, whipping – food processors are doing it all. In order to achieve this they need a reliable material with a high surface quality and selected INEOS Styrolution’s specialty Novodur® for the back wall housing. It features mechanical strength, dimensional stability and chemical resistance and is the ideal solution for kitchen devices.
Dishwashers
INEOS Styrolution's styrenic polymers Terluran® ABS, Novodur® ABS, Lustran® SAN and Luran® SAN are designed to meet the high range of requirements for household appliances like dishwashers. With exceptional properties like outstanding chemical resistance to combat oils, acids and cleaning agents that cause cracking, durability and high surface quality, our styrenic polymers are the materials of choice. High-end appliances made of Novodur® also provide temperature resistance, color retention and mechanical strength.
Water pitchers
Household appliances such as water filter jugs, impose a particularly wide variety of requirements on the material used. Water filter producers are seeking a material that meet food contact regulations. Aesthetic appearance and transparency are also undoubtedly important for this applications. NAS® transparent styrene acrylic copolymers are a premium choice for applications demanding strong, stiff, and water-clear SMMA polymer. It complies with the stringent standards of the European and Chinese food contact regulations and is FDA compliant.
Smart indoor garden
The new trend of indoor gardening gives access to self grown and fresh herbs and spices at any time of the year. Our Terluran® ECO emphasises the sustainability aspect of this new trend by using mechanical recycled ABS material.
Coffee machines
For fully automated coffee machines producers often select INEOS Styrolution’s Terluran® for the housing and NAS® or Luran® for the highly transparent water tank. Terluran® is the perfect material for self-colouring, providing a balanced property mix for housings. Luran® provides the glass-like transparency and flowability which is required for high-quality and aesthetic water tanks.
Drinkware/ tableware
Novodur® meets the stringent standards of the European drinking water and food contact regulations. The new material was designed as a drop-in solution for running ABS systems with demanding regulatory requirements, such as bowls, food containers, cups and various sanitary applications. It is available as uncoloured resin or in a variety of regulatory compliant pre-coloured versions.
Air conditioners
With high quality aesthetics, dimensional stability and resistance to temperature changes, INEOS Styrolution polymers are ideal for use in air conditioners and the household industry. Their balance of flowability, toughness and high-gloss surface make them a high-quality, cost-effective solution.
