Established since 2005 in Italy, in the heart of the historic Solvay factory of Rosignano, INEOS Manufacturing Italia is part of the INEOS Group, the British multinational with registered office in Rolle, Switzerland, and production sites in 26 different countries worldwide. The Company works independently, as part of INEOS Olefins & Polymers Europe, one of the 34 businesses that make up the Group founded in 1998 by Jim Ratcliffe.

EFFICIENCY AND FLEXIBILITY

INEOS Manufacturing Italia spreads out geographically in two distinct areas: Vada, where the ethylene storage plant stands, and the Industrial Park of Rosignano, where the High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) production plant, the FEX research plant and the other production areas of the company are established. Some of the support services are provided by external companies and professionals.

  • INEOS Manufacturing Italia is part of the INEOS Group, particularly of INEOS Olefins & Polymers Europe, the leading European producer of olefins and third European producer of polyolefins.
  • Founded in 1998 by Jim Ratcliffe, the INEOS Group is the world’s third chemical company with a turnover of 60 billion dollars and 183 operational sites spread out in 26 different countries.
  • The headquarters of INEOS Manufacturing Italia is located in the Industrial Park of Rosignano, close to Livorno. The plant has an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of high density polyethylene (HDPE)
  • The storage plant is located in Vada, where the liquid ethylene arrives by ship on a weekly basis. Before being sent to the production plant of Rosignano, the ethylene undergoes an evaporation process through heating at room temperature.
  • The Rosignano site is the only plant in Italy totally dedicated to the production of HDP. It directly employs 180 people along with several contractors.
  • The production of INEOS Manufacturing Italia covers around 50% of the national demand for HDPE, with a constant uptrend in the last years.
  • INEOS Manufacturing Italia serves a market with a global turnover of more than 2.5 billion euro per year, with the direct employment of 8,000 workers.
  • INEOS Manufacturing Italia is certified by standards ISO 9001, ISO 140001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 50001, international quality certifications. This shows the company’s concern for the health of workers and safety of the workplace, environmental protection, reduction of footprint, and improvement on energy efficiency.
