INOVYN Sverige AB

INOVYN Sverige AB has its operations in Stenungsund where we are about 315 employees. At our site in Stenungsund, we produce baking soda lye, PVC, hydrochloric acid and hydrogen. Our products are used in many demanding applications and are a basic raw material for many different industrial sectors such as; automotive, building and construction, paint, adhesives, medical equipment and products, the paper industry, textiles and water purification and more. Our production in Stenungsund started in 1967, which means that next year we have our 60th anniversary.

Our processing plant in Stenungsund consists of three integrated factories. These are monitored and run around the clock from a state-of-the-art control room that was inaugurated and put into operation in 2021. The plant also has a new electrified chlorine production with membrane technology, which was completed in 2018 and went into full operation in 2019. To and from our plant in Stenungsund, transport goes by ship via our port, as well as by truck and rail.

INEOS Inovyn is a world-leading chemical company with 4,000 employees. We have 15 production sites across Europe and together produce a volume of 9 million tonnes and a turnover of almost €3 billion.

The Molecular Workshop

We are one of the "inventors" who made it possible. Today, the Molecule Workshop is a national player and one of Sweden's 20 Science Centers. The Molecule Workshop started as early as 1992 and then as a staffed exhibition about the chemical companies at Kulturehuset Fregatten in Stenungsund. Today, in addition to that, there is also a large and solid collaboration together with the schools in the region.

The Molecule Workshop is owned by a non-profit association, Sustainable Chemistry Stenungsund, which was formed in 2012 by five world-leading chemical companies in Stenungsund, Linde, Nouryon, Borouge International, INEOS Inovyn and Perstorp, and is run in collaboration with Stenungsund Municipality.
