Stenungsund

Operations at the Stenungsund site began in 1967. The site primarily produces caustic soda for sale to the Pulp & Paper industry in the Nordic region. Hydrochloric acid and PVC are also produced here and sold on the European and global markets. This site produces BIOVYN^TM and NEOVYN^TM, our sustainable PVC products.

The site comprises three integrated production facilities, all of which are operated from a common high-tech control room that became fully operational in 2021. The plant also features an electrified chlorine cell room using membrane technology which reached full production capacity in 2019.

Since its launch in 2016, the Stenungsund site has been involved in the industry's improvement programme, Operation Clean Sweep, working on reducing PVC spillage through improved procedures, training and follow-up, as well as better process equipment. The standard has been further refined through detailed requirements and external audits, for which the facility has been certified since 2024.

The facility holds the following management system certifications: ISO 9001:2015 for Quality, ISO 14001:2015 for the Environment and ISO 50001:2011 for Energy.
