With the closures of the Petroineos Refinery and the ethanol plant at Grangemouth, the site’s demand for steam and power has substantially reduced. As a consequence, and since February 2025, one of INEOS’ power and steam plants, the CHP, has been idled.
To allow us to focus on ensuring we have the right sized infrastructure to support our manufacturing operations for the future we are currently in discussions with the CHP’s operator, Fortum, on a managed decommissioning of the asset.
