Runcorn

Our operations at Runcorn site are of strategic national importance to the UK and focus mainly on the production of chlorine, caustic soda and chlorinated derivatives.

The site has one of the largest membrane electrolysis units in Europe. The chemicals produced at the site are sold into a wide variety of industrial applications across sectors such as water, building and construction, electronics and pharmaceuticals. INEOS Inovyn also produces salt at Runcorn site, for sale to a range of industrial customers.

Runcorn site is highly integrated and hosts a number of other chemical manufacturers including Runcorn MCP Ltd (a joint venture between INEOS Inovyn and VYNOVA), Orbia, VYNOVA and Packed Chlorine Limited.

Our chlor-alkali products are produced by state-of-the-art BICHLOR Electrolysers, created and sold by INEOS Electrochemical Solutions, who are also situated within the Runcorn site.

The salt production facility covers approximately five acres and is located in Weston Point, Runcorn, Cheshire. This is approximately 25 miles southwest of Manchester.
