The Daily Mile
INEOS continued to support The Daily Mile during 2025. It is simple, inclusive and delivers measurable benefits for children’s health, wellbeing and ability to learn.
The concept is straightforward: children move outdoors for around 15 minutes during the school day, at least three times a week. No equipment. No cost. No barriers. Just daily physical activity built into normal school life.
The impact is significant. More than 5.6 million children worldwide now participate in The Daily Mile, helping to address declining physical activity, rising childhood obesity and increasing mental health pressures. Regular movement improves fitness, supports emotional wellbeing and helps children return to the classroom more focused and ready to learn. This is early intervention at scale, delivered where it matters most: in schools.

The growth has been absolutely incredible, not just in terms of numbers, but the quality of the way that The Daily Mile is being adopted... It belongs to the children – they go at their own pace and all the barriers to participation in physical activity have been removed. What INEOS has done is going to have a huge [long-term] impact on the future health of children. My hope is that it stays simple and continues to belong to the children.
INEOS has supported The Daily Mile since 2016 because it delivers results without complexity.
It aligns with our broader sustainability approach: practical solutions, delivered at scale, with lasting impact. The Daily Mile is simple: no bureaucracy, no distortion of purpose. It improves children’s lives today and helps build healthier communities tomorrow.
